Starting out as a weatherman/TV-Radio host for TV8 in the '70s, Andy also played "Captain Woody" on the WOOD-TV8 afternoon kids' show. Andy just might be the most recognized personality in the West Michigan area, having been on the radio and TV for over five decades. Originally a "Hoosier" from Muncie, Indiana, Andy graduated from Ball State University, working in radio and TV in Richmond, Muncie, and Indianapolis. Andy is deeply involved in the Grand Rapids and West Michigan community, having served on the board of directors of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), the Metropolitan YMCA, and Easter Seals-Michigan. He also works with the Salvation Army, DeGage Ministries, JDRF, Disability Advocates, and Hope Network, among others. Andy is a busy father and grandfather with seven children and fourteen grandchildren. What's the best part of his job? The ability to make a difference in the community.
