Dimes Worth $2 Million Could Be Hidden In Michigan
Every so often someone makes a mistake that turns out to be beneficial for a handful of people but most of the time, mistakes mean problems. If you work for the US Mint or the Us government than yes, you may feel like some of these mistakes are your problems but if you're like the rest of us who don't, this mistake is like a dream come true. Mistakes that are committed by the US Mint come with a hefty price tag.
This isn't the first time that we have heard of the US Mint making an error that was discovered years down the road and would lead to a selection of coins or bills being worth astronomical amounts. In fact, earlier this year, there were quarters, dimes, and nickels all being sold on the market for different values. This time, the US Mint has another expensive mistake to announce as there are more secret treasure coins people are searching for.
Yes, some people have made a hobby out of collecting coins as they are able to travel to different parts of the world while also fulfilling a hobby and making money at the same time. For some of these collectors, they have been fortunate enough to track down some of the more valuable coins in the world while others are still searching for their first big hit.
Good thing there are also new US Mint mistakes being discovered and plenty of opportunities for coin collectors to score big. This time, there are dimes that are worth $2 Million floating around and they could be somewhere in Michigan. The dimes in question are the 1894-S Barber Dime, which were made in the San Francisco Mint by a man named John Daggett.
Daggett made only 24 of these dimes which are now over 130 years old, but where did all of them go? He gave 3 of them to his daughter, telling her not to spend them. She immediately spent one but hung on the other two until the 1950s, Daggett then gave the rest of them to banker friends who heard through the grapevine that no dimes would be made that year.

Since then, only 9 of them have been known to exist with the knowledge that 7 of them are in the hands of private collectors while the other two are unknown. This means they could be anywhere including here in Michigan, so check your coin purse, piggy banks, cars, and other places for coins.
If you think you've found one of the John Daggett 1894-S Barber Dimes than take to a reputable coin or antiques dealer for confirmation. Once you have confirmed you have one of the lucky dimes, start taking bids and only settle for the highest and the most recent from the collection sold for just shy of $2 Million in 2016.
