One of the first things that everybody does before or after a storm is head to the grocery store and grab necessities that they are either running low on or want to have a plethora of just in case things go south. This is a normal occurrence for us here in Michigan as both thunderstorms and snowstorms illicit the same response as we never know how bad it can be.

The snowstorms have already started to hit us here in the Mitten state as we have had two different storms that have yielded enough snow to make people concerned. The larger of the two storms came at the beginning of December and caused many businesses, organizations, and schools close for the first time this winter.

The roads for the most part were okay after this first storm but as we all know, ice can quickly develop and make driving much harder. The city workers are normally pretty good about getting out to make the roads safer, but the parking lots suffer in the process. This is where some of the most unfortunate accidents can occur as the conditions are scary.

Many people make their own parking spot during this time of year as it's hard to tell where the lines are. There are also too many people who drive too fast during this time of year and find themselves crashing into something after hitting ice. At the end of the day, operating a motor vehicle is a dangerous task and there are many things that can contirbute to that.

Obviously, tons of people went shopping the other day when the snowstorm was on its way. Meijer was one of the popular choices as they are a one stop shop that won't break the bank. Nonetheless, the parking lots were already building up with ice and there were tons of people there. Even though the weather didn't cause this accident it is something to keep in mind.

A vehicle smashed into the customer service desk of a Meijer in Cascade Township in Michigan and caused the store to be shut down for a short moment. The delay was caused by the registers going down after the crash but the accident minorly injured 4 people and destroyed part of the store.

It is believed that the 29-year-old driver experienced a medical episode that has not been specified right before the crash. The sedan would blow through and displace the customer service desk which sent gift cards and other merchandise scattering all over the store. The Kent County Sherriff's office says everyone seems to be okay and the store was able to be back up and running by the early afternoon.
