Explosion At Michigan Apartment Building Injures 12
Every single building has to pass inspections to be given licenses and remain operable, but we all know that there are some corners that are cut from time to time. This is why it's extremely important to know the evacuation plans and routes for the buildings you are frequently in. Disaster could strike at any time and the last thing you want is to be not be prepared to save your life or others.

If you notice anything that seems abnormal, out of place, or smells/looks weird than you should contact your building personnel or the local authorities to make sure the proper precautions and actions are taken to keep everyone safe. This heads-up thinking can be the difference between someone losing their life and being injured or being safe from harm.
Many people in Michigan found themselves in a horrific situation while in their apartment building that some people weren't so fortunate in. A Detroit apartment building exploded on Monday March 31st leaving 12 people injured, 2 are in critical condition. The powerful blast was at about 4am and was strong enough to blast bricks a distance away.
Those that were injured in the explosion include but are not limited to the following:
- A 30-year-old man with severe burns to nearly all his body
- A 27-year-old woman who is in critical condition
- A 3-year-old girl, who also was harmed in the fire.
Detroit Apartment Building Explosion Injures 12 People
Firefighters and other local authorities say that they believe everyone was evacuated from the building, but the structure is damaged to the point of no repair. When firefighters appeared on scene, survivors were preparing to jump from second story windows before they rescued them safely.
At this moment it is unclear what has caused the explosion, but some have speculated a natural gas leak. DTE who was on hand after the explosion could not confirm or deny whether there was a leak or not but did shut off the gas to the building upon request.
Just a couple of months ago in November, another blast similar to this was suspected to be caused by a natural gas leak that leveled two condominiums and heavily damaged more than a dozen others in Orion Township, sending two people to the hospital with serious injuries.
