Action Matters created F.I.S.T, which is a group that has been around the Kalamazoo area for the last couple of years and has been providing new opportunities to a select group of individuals during that span. Now, this "select group" is much larger than you think as F.I.S.T stands for Fathers Inspiring Sons Together and is encouraging fathers and sons to spend time with each other.

They are looking to get father and son duos to come out and try new skills while also having conversations and bonding with other duos. The cool thing is that a dad without a son or a son without a dad can still attend and make new connections. They have gone horseback riding, picnics, tool time, and more already and are back this summer, starting off with a bang, as they have a fun day at camp planned.

The first F.I.S.T event of the year is fastly approaching and looks to be a great way to start the summer. Action Matters has seen success with this program and is looking for a relaxing yet fun way to get more father-son duos involved in the activities and Pretty Lake Camp is a great place to start. They are having their first "Fun in the Sun with Father and Son event this weekend.

They are inviting father and son duos, fathers without sons, and sons without fathers to come out to Pretty Lake Summer Camp in Mattawan for a day of fun while the sun shines bright. There will be archery, fishing, campfire conversations, a cookout, and tons more cool and enjoyable activities for attendees to try.

The event will be Sunday, June 4th from 10 am to 4 pm. They are asking anyone that attends to be at Dunham's on West Main at 8:30 am as the carpool will be taking off at 8:45 am and will return to Dunham's at 4:30 pm once the event is over.
