Have You Ever Noticed These Curious Signs in Grand Rapids?
One thing about me is that I have the sense of humor of a 12-year-old. While I have grown into a strong healthy man, I am still wildly entertained by the stupidest things. Which comes in handy as someone who frequently drives down 28th Street.
Two sets of stores just fill me with unadulterated joy when I pass by them but for all the wrong reasons and I can't be the only one who has noticed these.
Cascade's Painful Sign
It is normal that when you drive by a mall or shopping center you see those tall signs that show which stores you can expect to encounter. However, sometimes things line up in such a perfect way that if you read it spells out something rather unexpected. That's the case over in Waterfall Shoppes, where turning onto Hotel Ave you're met with a startling sign.
This sign on its own shows that there is a Target, Staples, ALDI, and Dick's Sporting Goods. However, if you read this out..."Target staples aldi dick's." Ouch. Target, you naughty thing.
An Odd Pairing
Just up the road from Waterfall Shoppes, you'll find another outlet mall just across the street from Woodland Mall. Located off Radcliff and 28th St., you'll find a Kid 2 Kid, a hand-me-down store for things kids outgrow like clothes or toys, and a Mr. Gun Dealer, which sells a variety of guns.
Having these two stores next to each other is just a rather strange arrangement considering they contrast so heavily in their selling goals. To me, it feels like if you were to have a sunflower field growing next to a volcano. Just a funny sight overall.
