As a driver in Michigan, what is your biggest pet peeve when you pull into the gas station? I know one of the most common pet peeves is people who park at a gas tank without having any plans on actually getting gas.

These are the people who don’t want to pull into a proper parking space and would rather just pull up and get out.

However, one of my major pet peeves as a driver is something that I never really considered until I purchased a vehicle with the flex fuel option.

That means my engine is capable of running on E85 ethanol gas. It is a little bit more sustainable, because the car I have already gets good gas mileage, but now the gas that I get is anywhere from $.40-$.50 cheaper than normal unleaded gas.

But my biggest pet peeve now that I drive a flex fuel vehicle is people who park at the E85 pumps and pump normal unleaded gasoline, when there are multiple pumps that are open and available to use.

I end up having to wait almost 10 minutes every single time because I’ve never run into a situation where they pulled up, got gas, and left.

There’s always something that they have to go inside for that takes them five minutes, and then they come back out and take their time getting their unleaded gas while I’m sitting there waiting, blocking the area.

I guess that’s the price I pay for saving money at the pump, but I feel like that’s just common courtesy. If there are open pumps and you’re getting regular unleaded, just go to one of those, so people with flex fuel vehicles don’t have to sit there and block traffic.
