Michigan Hunter Arrested For Hunting Drunk & Trespassing
Last weekend was the very beginning of hunting season, which is an unofficial holiday here in Michigan. It’s the weekend we hunters all head up north and prepared to stake out for up to a week and try to thin out some of the overpopulated numbers of deer we have in Michigan.
It’s not even just the thrill of the hunt that is exciting, but the hope that once they do bag Themselves deer, that could be harvested for meat, and provide food for the family.
Well, we haven’t even made it two weeks and already we’re getting a report that somebody has already been arrested for illegally hunting.
Wasn’t the mail was hunting with an illegal gun, but this person was hunting as if they were in a video game, piss drunk and trespassing. It also didn’t help that it wasn’t wearing hunter orange, and he was a felon who was illegally in possession of a firearm, according to Wood TV.
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says 59-year-old Cecil Day was arrested on Nov. 18 in Otsego County and arraigned on four charges: possession of a firearm with a blood alcohol level over .08%, not wearing hunter’s orange, and a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The Township was apparently tipped off that he had killed multiple deer on private property, including an eight-point buck, and doing so while apparently having the .8% blood alcohol level, which is the limit drivers will be arrested for if they blow during a traffic stop.
