Kalamazoo Man Offers Free T’ai Chi Classes
Mixed Martial Arts have seen an uptick in popularity in the last 15 years and an even bigger boom during the pandemic as they were the first sport to return to competition, giving fans something to watch. The word mixed denotes that there's a combination of martial arts used for combat.
Bellator and UFC are the highest ranks of Mixed Martial Arts competition that one can strive for, as those athletes compete to be world champions in their division. Brazilian Ju-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Judo, and others are the most commonly used in MMA including T'ai Chi which is offered in Kalamazoo at a special price.
Kevin Kostrzewa, a man who's been living in Kalamazoo since 2007 has been studying T'ai Chi much longer as he's now a registered discipline. After spending so many years on the craft he is looking to share it with others. He took to Reddit and other socials to find his students.
Classes will take place on Mondays from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm at the Henderson Tot Lot which is located just south of West Main and is in a quiet but nice residential neighborhood. Since classes will take place outside, Kevin asked that attendees bring sunscreen, loose-fitting clothing, tennis shoes, and a water bottle. Also, since Covid is still prevalent, masks will be required if we are working closer than 6 feet with each other.
