After having a successful movie series in the parks in Kalamazoo and the surrounding areas, Kalamazoo Parks and Recreation is choosing to bring the Summer Cinema Series back for another run this year. Watching movies outside whether at a drive-in, in your backyard, or at the park is top-tier fun.

All throughout last summer, Kalamazoo Parks and Recreation lugged around a HUGE movie screen set up and stopped in multiple parks throughout the city and showed movies for the residents to enjoy. Some of your favorite kid's movies from the early 2000s to even newer movies were shown to those who wanted to brave the outdoor conditions at night.

This year, every other Friday, Kalamazoo Parks and Recreation will roll out their movie setup and ask people to fill the parks as the show is playing. The first outdoor movie is set to play on June 16th at Spring Valley Park and will be a movie that will be picked by the audience. All movies will be played at their specific park from 6:00 pm-10:00 pm and will be free of charge to all attendees.

Kalamazoo Parks and Recreation will also play The Bad Guys, Vivo, Air Bud, Inside Out, and another audience selection throughout the summer. The official dates are June 30th, July 14th, July 28th, August 11th, and August 25th, and will be at the Kalamazoo Farmers Market, Fairmount Dog Park, Frays Park twice, and a second trip to Spring Valley Park in that order.
