Michigan: Amazon Delicate Laundry Detergent Recalled For Bacteria
Laundry has been one of the most tedious tasks or chores since the beginning of time. Well, to be frank, doing laundry in the old days was horrible even though I have no experience with it. I do know that you had to use a washing board to wash everything by hand and then hang dry your clothes with clothespins. They also just used soap and water, now the laundry scene is much different.

In the early 19th century, the idea of electric and automating washing and drying services was becoming a reality. Shortly after industrial sized and family sized washers and dryers began being made. This would obviously lead to many different companies looking to manufacture the new appliances but also the materials needed for those appliances.
The introduction of washing and drying machines created the need for laundry detergent, fabric softener, dryer sheets, and other laundry products that are used on a daily basis. Everyone has their preferences for the type of products they like to use, and some people are restricted by allergies or other bodily reactions. That being said, finding cheap laundry detergent can be hard.
One of the go-to places to find affordable and quality laundry detergent in Michigan is none other than Amazon. The global marketplace makes finding anything at the best price easy, but they are subject to recalls like anyone else. A laundry detergent meant for delicate clothing that's available on their website was recalled.
50-ounce bottles of Woolite Delicates detergent that is sold exclusively on Amazon is being recalled for possible bacteria exposure. It's believed that these bottles may contain Pseudomonas species bacteria. Pseudomonas oleovorans were mentioned by name which is an environmental organism found in soil and water. The bacteria can enter the body through the eyes or break in the skin causing the alarm for the recall.
There have been no injuries or deaths reported at this time and the recalled bottles can be identified by the SKU 62338-72724, with lot codes S24364, S24365 and S24366. The lot code can be found at the top of the back of the bottle. The bottles were sold on Amazon in January 2025 for between $14 and $17.
Consumers are asked to stop using the detergent immediately and those who have purchased the product will receive a refund. To receive a refund, consumers must write their name and Recalled in permanent marker on the back of the product then take a photo with the UPC and lot code visible and email the photo to ConsumerCare_USA@reckitt.com."
