Michigan Man Victim Of Semi Truck Hit And Run Incident
Once again, we are back talking about the rules of the road because everyone isn't following them. That's a shocker I know but some people either need to retake drivers training or they simply don't need a license because following the laws of the road are essential to keeping everyone safe.

Most of the time that something goes wrong on the road like a car accident or something like that, its due to someone being careless in terms of the rules and laws of the road. Those broken rules often times lead to many unfortunate events that end in injuries and sometimes even death.
Battle Creek Man Victim Of Hit and Run With Semi Truck
We can all agree that sharing the road with semi-trucks can be scary at times considering its a large vehicle that can cause a lot of damage if something were to go wrong. In fact, we've all seen things go wrong with semi-trucks and the damage that has ensued from those instances. One Michigan man is now dealing with the fallout of a crash with a semi-truck even though the rig left the scene.
We are all taught that when you're involved in an accident of any kind that you're supposed to stop, wait for authorities, exchange insurance information, and then go separate ways once released, but some people don't always follow that rule. As we are finding out, many people flee the scene before first responders can get there.
Douglas Johnson of Battle Creek was sitting in the left turn lane at the intersection of Michigan and Hamblin Avenues when his vehicle was struck by a Semi-Truck that was turning left. Johnson was taken to the hospital and treated for a minor knee injury but now the police are in search of the rig and its driver.
Johnson says that he is lucky to be alive after experiencing the crash with the semi-truck. He says the Hamblin and Michigan intersection is a heavy truck traffic area and feels that traffic should be rerouted to keep this from happening again. The Battle Creek police are working with a state agency to track down the driver.
If found and arrested the driver could face a misdemeanor charge that could result in up to a year of jail if convicted. Below is a dashcam footage of the crash and aftermath:
