Michigan Native Explains Subpar Home Run Derby National Anthem
Just a few days ago we all witnessed one of the most unforgettable moments as the national anthem was absolutely slaughtered during the Major League Baseball (MLB) Home Run Derby in Arlington, Texas. Shortly after the questionable performance the jokes and memes began to swirl around the internet, and this is how we all became aware of the singer's origins in the Mitten state.
Ingrid Andress, who was born in Southfield, Michigan is the most talked about singer this week because of her rendition of the national anthem. Immediately, her performance was compared to some of the worst we have seen in history, but the most notable comparisons were Rosanne and Fergie, which many say she was worse than them. Nonetheless, Ingrid held silent for a while and was probably hoping things would just blow over, when that wasn't the case, she finally spoke out to explain what happened with her national anthem performance.
Ingrid Andress was faced with one of the toughest decisions that she'll ever have to make following her national anthem. She could choose to "let it all blow over", apologize with very little detail, or give the full-blown truth. Well, there is some controversary on whether people believe her or not, but she has come out and given her account of the truth.
Ingrid Andress has said that she apologizes for the performance she gave of the national anthem at the Home Run Derby as she was drunk. She said that she would be admitting herself in to rehab as well, all of this was done on her Instagram story Tuesday afternoon. These were a few of her words used on the social media site:
That was not me last night. I apologize to MLB, all the fans, and this country I love so much for that rendition
Whether she was truly drunk or not, some of us may never know but we are glad to see that she is seeking the help that she needs. Also, whether she was drunk or not, it was an explanation or excuse for the bad vocals and off-key pitch.
