Social Media Sensation, Noah Knigga Commits to Eastern Michigan
Deciding where you will go to college and what you will major in are two of the hardest decisions you have to make in your life. When you choose to pursue an athletic career beyond high school, that decision only gets harder. You have to think about the campus, the distance, the academics, the social life, the team, workouts, schedules, and so much more.
Eastern Michigan isn't the easiest school to recruit to as it is tucked away in Ypsilanti, Michigan and the sports teams haven't been the most successful in recent memory. Football has an interesting case as they have the grey turf in Rynearson Stadium and they use the green, grey, and white color scheme very well. All of those features and more were enough to convince a popular football star to commit to the Eastern Michigan Eagles, which could lead to more success.
It all started about 8 or 9 months ago during the high school football season when 3-star Noah Knigga began to post the scholarship offers that he was receiving from around the country. Instantly, his name was turned into a meme referencing the derogatory term towards black people, turning him into a social media sensation. He was able to handle the fame well and finished out his senior year.
The next thing for him to do was make his decision on where he would be continuing his academic and athletic careers, in which he chose Eastern Michigan University. Instantly, his decision went viral as everyone remembered what went down in the fall, but my first thought was all of the announcers both TV and radio that would either pronounce his name wrong or have a conniption trying not to.
I'm sure there are going to be nicknames made up for him to avoid any troubles that some may foresee but it's going to be an interesting 4 years with Noah Knigga in the Mitten State.
