Crime has been a part of the world since the very beginning whether it be taking someone's life, theft, or other crimes. Often times, crime is said to be the highest in areas of poverty as those individuals are forced to turn to crime as a means of survival. Things haven't changed in the slightest but instead have arguably become worse as inflation and other factors make living a honest life harder.

Michigan is no stranger to crime as the state has dealt with government officials committing fraud and embezzlement, school shootings, grand theft auto, attempted kidnappings, serial killers, and more. I'm not surprised to see Detroit on this list as they are often the city that is chosen from Michigan because it is the largest, but the crime rate does surprise me. I have never felt like Detroit was that dangerous and definitely not enough to be ranked higher than Chicago or some other cities.
