Celery Flats is one of the many parks/nature preserves that give Portage/Kalamazoo a boost in the beauty department. They provide the area with tons of nature's natural beauty but also provide a space for families to have a picnic, walk, or even enjoy a show at the theatre on sight. They even partner with both the City of Portage and Kalamazoo to bring cool events to the park.

Over the last few years, food trucks have become increasingly popular as they are easier to maintain and fund as a business but also really convenient for those who need to grab a quick bite to eat while out on lunch or going from one responsibility to the next. Food truck rallies have also gotten a lot of traction in the area and the one they've been having at Celery Flats is back this summer.

Yes, that's right, Fridays at The Flats has returned for another summer and this one should be better than last year's. Every fourth Friday of every month between May and September the food trucks will line up in Celery Flats for attendees to enjoy their food, company, and live music. Fridays on The Flats starts today and will be every month on the fourth Friday from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

There is only limited seating so it will be available on a first come first served basis but depending on what you decide to eat, you may take your meal "to-go" and walk around the flats while you chow down. There is also tons of lawn space available for bringing a blanket, chair, or other forms of seating to enjoy a picnic in the grass at the Celery Flats Pavilion.

You can visit Food Truck Dining and Events in Kalamazoo, Michigan if you'd like to know what food trucks will be present at Fridays at The Flats and what other food truck events will be in Kalamazoo.
