ICE Detains Kabuki Sushi Owner, Shuttering Flint Restaurant That Fed Struggling Families
Not even seven months after Salman and Ashley opened Kabuki Sushi in Flint, Michigan, Salman, the owner and head chef at the restaurant, along with other crew members, were detained by ICE.
Recently, the restaurant had to suddenly close after the owner and operator were seized, and now the families connected to those who were taken face a painful and uncertain time. This is especially harmful for the community, as the two have made it their personal goal to use their restaurant as a way to lift people up.

When people in the city of Flint were affected by food assistance cuts from FAP and SNAP, they offered free and discounted meals to the community.
Now, a fundraiser has been set up to help support the families. The money will help cover their travel costs as they make the more than three-hour trip to visit them, help with legal expenses, and provide money while they are away, according to the GoFundMe page, which had raised over $7,000 as of October 7.

The Internet Thinks This Guy Is The Lansing Serial Killer
Salman, Ashley, and this team have consistently supported the community, and those who know them believe they are nowhere near criminals. They have worked hard, built something special, and deserve support right now. Please give what you can and help stand with Salman, Ashley, and the Kabuki Sushi team during this crisis.
There has been heavy deployment of ICE since January of last year in an attemp to remove the "worst of the worst" illegal immigrants from our country; however, this does not seem to be the case here, and the tactics and exercises that have been used have been heavily criticized.
