The Midwest is a popular location for many classic movies and continues to be a great place not only to shoot films but for films to take place in. Here in Michigan, we’ve had a lot of really cool films either filmed or partially filmed here in the state, including Transformers, Batman versus Superman, Die Hard 2, and all of the Evil Dead films.

So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that filmmakers want to make the Midwest a popular filming region. But what about Ohio? Even though we give the state below us a bunch of crap, there are some great locations to shoot a film and have a setting for a film.

Ohio is home to a lot of classic films throughout the years, like the 1994 comedy movie, starring Rick Moranis and Ed O’Neill, Little Giants. You also can’t forget about the 1987 classic, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles with Steve Martin and John Candy.

Those are two of the most popular films to be located in Ohio but let’s take a look at some of the other films you may not have known took place there.
