Kalamazoo Public Library Branch Closes For Renovation
The Kalamazoo Public Library has been busy over the last year as they have had several major things to handle. First was the interesting situation they had with the Alma Powell Branch and the Douglass Community Center, which has since been moved to another building on the city's Northside. Then they had the impending election in which new members were elected to their board staff.
Now, they are back in the news again but this time, it seems to be a little less worrisome. They announced that they will be closing one of their branch locations for maintenance work to be completed for a long-awaited renovation. The Kalamazoo Public Library will be closing the Oshtemo Township branch from November 18th to November 20th.
The library branch which is located at 7265 W Main St. will be receiving a new rooftop HVAC system and the branch will be closed because the project will require heavy construction machinery. Library patrons can still use the drop box at the Oshtemo branch while the location is closed.
The Central location in Downtown Kalamazoo is the next closest location for those in the Oshtemo area who may need the Library services which can be found at 315 S. Rose St. One thing that can be said about the Kalamazoo Public Library is that they are committed to provide these resources to the community at all costs.
The people of the Kalamazoo area can turn to the Kalamazoo Public Library for many things and the KPL has done an amazing job at always showing up for their community. Here are other things you can do in Kalamazoo after taking a trip to the library:
