Michigan: Ford Recalls Over 270,000 Popular SUVs & Trucks
The Ford Bronco became one of the most famous SUVs in the world after the wild police chase and court hearing that occurred thanks to OJ Simpson. We can all have our opinions on whether he did it or not but that doesn't change that those events made Ford Broncos more popular than ever before.

For a while, Ford Bronco wasn't being manufactured as the last model of the car was made in 1996 before Ford brought the line back in 2021. Tons of people were excited to see the popular line come back to life as they are all over the roads, especially here in Michigan.
Although the new Bronco has gotten tons of raving reviews, they have now found themselves in some trouble. Ford has placed a recall on the Bronco and the Ford Maverick Pickup truck as well which is a recall of over 270,000 vehicles in total.
All of the recalled vehicles were made between February of 2021 and October of 2023 and the reason for the recall is a loss of power that results in the vehicle stopping unexpectedly or not starting at all.
According to the National Highway and Transportation Safety Administration the recall comes from a 12-volt battery made by Camel Battery of China that has internal defects including weld failures that could cause open circuits. So far, there have been no reports of accidents, fires or injuries caused by the problem.
A previous recall on these same vehicles was for some vehicles losing power including the ability to turn on hazard lights, without warning. The remedy involves software updates to improve detection of battery problems and provide warnings to drivers.
