Two Michigan Singers Battling in “The Voice”
The Voice has easily become one of the most popular musical entertainment shows in America. I would argue that this has completely taken over the spot in American's hearts that was held by American Idol. Many people sit down weekly to watch the competition go down as singers do their best to earn themselves a shot at stardom.

We have seen artist like Morgan Wallen and Koryn Hawthorne who were eliminated in the playoffs and finished 4th runner up respectively earn success after being on the show. Morgan Wallen has become one of the best-selling and most popular country artists in the game right now while Hawthorne is topping Gospel charts left and right.
There have been over 25 singers from Michigan that have been featured on The Voice and this season, there are two more mitten-based singers that have made it to the battle rounds of the competition. 19-year-old Iris Herrera, from Newaygo, north of Grand Rapids and 28-year-old Braxton Garza, from Adrian are representing Michigan.
Herrera auditioned last year but unfortunately didn't receive any chair turns, this time, she got not just 1 turn, but John Legend, Kelsea Ballerini and Michael Bublé turned around. After performing "You Are My Sunshine” by Pine Ridge Boys she selected Kelsea Ballerini‘s team, making her Ballerini’s first-ever team member.
Garza performed “Pretty Little Poison” by Warren Zeiders for his audition and Michael Bublé turned his chair and blocked Ballerini before she could try and steal him. Garza will sing March 10th against Jadyn Cree; the other coaches will help with feedback while Bublé picks who he thinks won the battle.
Herrara is awaiting to battle at another time, but the winners of the battles advance to the live shows while the other goes home. Keep in mind that each coach has one save and steal during the battle round.
