With spring coming to an end and summer quickly approaching many of us are gearing up for the warmer temperatures and sunny days. Trips to the beach, time spent in nature, traveling to tropical places, and general time outside will become more common for everyone. At the same time, we'll all be looking for ways to stay hydrated and cool.

One of the many ways that we can cool off during a hot summer day is with ice cream. Whether you wait for the ice cream truck to come rolling around the neighborhood, you travel to your local ice cream shop, or go to the store to purchase a carton, ice cream almost always hits the spot.

Just like anything else in the world, there are tons of different options for ice cream which all taste different and are available in different places and price ranges. Michigan is home to several mom-and-pop ice cream shops in addition to chain parlors like Dairy Queen, Frosty Boy, Menchie's and more.

Although there are tons of ice cream options out there and you can never really go wrong with what you choose, there are some ice creams that are voted to be worse than others based on their flavor, texture, and creaminess. An imbalance in this trifecta can cause some disappointing taste subsequently meaning less sales.

The Worst Ranked Ice Cream Brand Is Sold In Michigan

24/7 Wall St put together a list of the most undesirable ice creams and you wouldn't believe the amount of them that are sold in Michigan. Several of the worst ice cream brands are Blue Bunny, Blue Ribbon, Breyers and even Baskin Robbins, which are all available in the Mitten State. Any guesses on which ice cream brand is the worst?

Turkey Hill has been named as the worst ice cream brand in the United States, and it is sold as several stores in Michigan. I personally have never had Turkey Hill ice cream, so I have no opinions, but 24/7 Wall St did. Here is what they had to say about Turkey Hill ice cream:

As Kroger’s flagship brand, Turkey Hill was a mainstay in the Kroger freezer from 1985-2023. Though there was some mild protest when the item disappeared, thanks to its declining fanbase, its removal went largely unnoticed. Like Breyer’s, Turkey Hill manufactures some decent ice cream. Also, like Breyer’s, Turkey Hill produces its share of lackluster, lower-quality frozen treats.  They use the same principal offenders- cellulose gum, cellulose gel, and carrageenan- as other brands on the list. The big takeaway: Read the label.

We're not saying that this list is 100% true because there are fans of every single brand that made this list that will argue you tooth and nail about why that brand shouldn't be on the list.
