I visited Baltimore a couple of weeks ago and literally had the best seafood I've ever had in my life. The freshness of not just the crab but all of the different kinds of seafood was immaculate. There's something about having access to the ocean and getting fresh shipments of seafood daily that completely changes the taste, oh and that lovely Old Bay seasoning. Even though Michigan isn't seaside, there are some places to get some pretty good seafood in the mitten.

Michigan may never be able to compare to the states like Maryland, Texas, Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, and others that are seaside. The ability to have a steady supply of fresh fish being delivered, prepped, cooked, and served is something that can't be replicated this far away from the ocean. So, what's the next best option, seafood in Michigan isn't as bad as you think. There are plenty of restaurants that specialize in seafood throughout the state, but which one is the best?

I hope that I will be able to enjoy seafood here in Michigan again after being seaside and noticing the clear difference. Maybe I'll just have to take a trip to the best seafood spot in the state to see if it compares or at least can hold me over until I'm able to get back to the sea.
