Starbucks Reward System Changes Affecting Michigan Locations

There are billions of people across the world who drink coffee and many of them feel like they can't or haven't gotten their day started if they haven't had their coffee yet. The caffeinated beverage is known to help people wake up, stay up, be energized, and interactive for the day. Many people would tell you that they aren't the same person before and after they have their first cup of coffee.

Starbucks has been around for decades serving the world their famous coffee blends. Some people make a stop by Starbucks every morning and sometimes multiple times in a day to get their beloved coffee. I am not judging as we all have our guilty pleasures, coffee just happens to not be one of mine. Starbucks has been one of the premiere coffee chains and brands for decades and that won't be changing anytime soon.

Although that won't be changing, there will be other changes made that will affect all of their customers including those of us here in Michigan. Starbucks is making some adjustments to their rewards program that will make it more difficult to accumulate stars to earn free items. Currently, rewards members can earn up to 2 stars per $1 spent but there is another loophole their trying to stop.

Changes Coming To Starbucks Locations All Over Michigan

Religious Starbucks goers will tell you that you should have a personal Starbucks branded cup that you take with you for them to fill up when you order. At first thought, this seems like a little much but when you learn that they get 25 bonus stars for bringing the cup, it starts to make a lot of sense. Unfortunately, that won't be the case for much longer.

Starting on June 24th Starbucks has announced that customers will no longer be able to earn 25 bonus stars for bringing the cup but instead will earn the standard 2 stars/$1 unless they choose to pay cash in which it would be 1 star/$1. This comes just months after they closed their open-door policy which now requires anyone who wants to use the restroom or sit inside to purchase something.
