The NFL has been around for decades, so it is hard to believe that there are still first happening in the league but to be honest, this is happening at least once a season if not more. As technology and skill continue to improve, I would expect for us to continue seeing faster across the sport of football, especially in the NFL. Although there are all time greats in the Hall of Fame already, but today's players may be the best we have ever seen.

One of the most sought after and criticized positions in football is the quarterback. Obviously, the coach gets most of the blame and smart sports fans know the front office should take most of the brunt, but that's not the case. Everyone is looking at the quarterback to be one of the best and most influential players on the field, but often times they fall short. This past weekend, the Detroit Lions and their fans can say that their quarterback rose to the occasion as he had an unprecedented performance.

The Detroit Lions took on the Seattle Seahawks in Week 4 of the NFL season and it was one of the premiere matchups of the week as it was on Monday Night Football on ESPN. Everyone had their eyes on this game as the Seattle Seahawks have had the Detroit Lions number for a few years now. It would take a spectacular game from the Lions to end the streak of bad luck against the Seahawks and that's exactly what happened.

Jared Goff has been the quarterback of the Detroit Lions since 2021 and has helped restore faith in the Motor City franchise. Last year, he led them back to the NFC championship game and helped them earn first in their division which allowed them to host their first playoff game since the 93-94 season. After Monday's performance, I would imagine that Jared Goff has placed himself into the hearts of Detroit forever.

Goff completed a feat on Monday night that has never been done in NFL history as he led the Detroit Lions to a 42-29 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. One of the hardest parts of football is completing passes as this requires the offensive line to block, the receiver to get open, the quarterback to throw a good pass, and for the receiver to catch the ball without dropping it and having two feet in bounds.

Even though the odds are stacked against him, Jared Goff went out and had a lights out performance in the Monday Night game. Jared Goff would throw and complete all 18 passes that were called for 292 yards and 2 touchdowns. He even caught one of the passes from Amon Ra St Brown for a 7-yard touchdown.

Yes, its easy to play a dink and dunk game where all the passes were short but that's far from how the lions played this game. Jared Goff through multiple passes that were 10-20 yards downfield and even had a deep play touchdown to Jameson Williams that went for 70 yards. This game may go down as the greatest quarterback performance in NFL history as he is the only quarterback to ever have a perfect throwing game in the NFL.

Will we ever see a quarterback have a game like this again? If so, will they throw more or less passes than Jared Goff? What about yards and touchdowns?
