In March of 2023, The Kalamazoo Galaxy begin their inaugural season as a part of "The Basketball League", a professional basketball league in North America. They open up their season with a three-game series against the Glass City Wranglers, with the second of the three being the home opener.

They would drop the first game by a score of 112-99 as they had 3 players in double digits, all scoring more than 20 points. Justin Moss tallied 26 points along with both Edward Dyson III and Orlando Little Jr who were each responsible for 21 points. They invited the Wranglers to Kalamazoo on Thursday in hopes of grabbing the franchise's first victory.

As friends, family, loved ones, fans, media, and other interested parties began to pile into Wings Event Center you could feel the energy in the building grow as Kalamazoo was excited to have and cheer on their own professional basketball team. As the hype video played, the fans cheered, the lineups were announced, and they came out ready to go.

The Galaxy would go on to have a very exciting, action-filled, and engaged battle with the Wranglers as the game came down to the final shot. After Kalamazoo sank two free throws to take a 2-point lead with just 1.3 seconds remaining. That's when the Wrangler's star player, Christopher Darrington hit a deep three to steal a 1-point Victory.

Although the night was spoiled by this incredible shot, the vibes were immaculate all night and there was even a hometown hero. Orlando Little Jr, who grew up in Kalamazoo, had a blockbuster game. After scoring more than 20 points and having double-digit rebounds, it's safe to say he put on for his city and almost secured the dub.
