FDA Recalls Hood Chili Crisp Tofu Over Ink Contamination Concerns Across 30 States
It shouldn’t come as a surprise at this point, but the food in our country is of such low quality that now tofu that was sold in Michigan has been recalled because it might have ink in it.
The Food and Drug Administration has announced that. Hood Inc. has called back cases of its chili crisp lightly fried tofu that is served in 8-ounce packages in six- and 30-pack cases, which totaled more than 10,000 cases across 30 states because it may contain ink in them.
How does ink get in lightly fried tofu? I have no idea, but because of the amount of recalls we have seen so far this year in Michigan, I wouldn’t be surprised if foods start getting recalled because they have pens in them next.
The tofu was sold in Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Michigan, Montana, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.

All in all, more than 10,006 pack cases and nearly 530 packs have been impacted by the recall. It’s interesting how many foods that people consider to be healthy foods have been recalled this year. For more information, you can visit the Food and Drug Administration's website.
