It's no surprise that over the last few years that several businesses across the country have had to close their doors and shut down their businesses because they can't stay afloat. Inflation, Covid 19, and employment struggles have been the most common reasons for closings in not only Michigan but the rest of the United States as well. Large corporations, chain businesses, and local places have all fallen victim to the closure bug during this time, so no one is safe.

In Kalamazoo, there is another problem that has been causing strain to businesses around the city, and that's our least favorite season of the year, construction. There has been not stop construction all this year that has affected multiple parts of town and there are businesses that are struggling because of it. Residents and visitors have been experiencing delays and traffic all over the city all summer and now this business is asking for helping to stay open.

Schultz's Sweets has been serving the Kalamazoo and surrounding communities for a couple of decades now and have even had enough success to open a second location and even get a booth within the Wings Event Center. Schultz's Treat Street located on Oakland Drive was born to give the community another place to get some of their favorite sweets, but now they need help before it's too late.

Schultz's Treat Street has been experiencing lower sale volumes over the last few months due to all of the construction that's happening around town. They recall asking for help earlier in the summer and expressed thanks to those who showed up and showed out, now they are asking for those loyal customers to come through again.

As you can see in the Facebook post above, they are asking for people to make a small effort to help them out. They have expressed their understanding for people not wanting to deal with the construction, delays, and traffic but they believe this is small price to pay. They also acknowledge that people aren't ignoring small businesses on purpose, but that money is tight for everyone in these tough times.

All they are asking is for you to take a few extra minutes on your way home or while you're out for lunch to stop by their Schultz's Treat Street location to keep them alive so they can continue to serve sweets to the Kalamazoo community and its visitors.
