The Thanksgiving holiday is one that many of us are excited for as we get to spend time with family, enjoy great food, nap, and so much more. For others, celebrating the holidays can be tougher for them for many reasons. Some people have lost family and loved ones and have trouble getting into the holiday spirit while others are less fortunate and can't afford to celebrate.

For some people, trying to get their family together and cook enough food for everyone is either an extremely daunting tasks or one that they are simply not able to fulfill. There have been countless organizations, businesses, churches, shelters, and others that have provided meals for these families or individuals in tough situations. This is often a community service and learning lesson for young teens and adults.

Also, as well all know, the main dish of Thanksgiving is a turkey, but they can be expensive and sometimes hard to find. That's where the kind hearts of so many people come in handy as they help these people have an amazing Thanksgiving. There are tons of free turkey giveaways that happen but none of them are like the one that FireKeepers Casino Hotel holds every year.

The Battle Creek Casino Hotel is known for bringing entertainment, fun times, and more for the people of the community. For years now, they have been pulling their resources together to help families enjoy their Thanksgiving and this year is no different. FireKeepers announced that they have kept their tradition alive and have provided free turkeys to families.

As mentioned before, FireKeepers does Turkey giveaways better than anyone else in this area and maybe in all of Michigan. This year, they announced that they handed out more than 2,600 turkeys to local food banks and organizations that will help struggling and less fortunate families enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday.

FireKeepers will also be hosting a free Thanksgiving meal at Battle Creek Central Commons from 11am to 1pm on Thanksgiving Day as they partner with local charities to provide for those in need of a meal.
